3rd and 4th grade worked super hard in February that they earned a Lego Day! Today they got to come to the library to play legos with Ms. Tammy.










🧵✂️ Seventh graders are learning valuable skills in Life Skills class as they practice sewing! From threading needles to creating their own projects, students are building patience, creativity, and confidence along the way. Great work, 7th grade! 😊
😊💬 Third and fourth graders had a great time during their Social Emotional Learning (SEL) time today with Ms. Rivera! Students enjoyed activities that help build strong friendships, communication skills, and a positive classroom community. 💙
📚✨ Fourth grade had a special visit from Mrs. Hungerford, who joined the class as a guest reader for March is Reading Month! Thank you, Mrs. Hungerford, for sharing a story and helping inspire our students’ love of reading. 📖💙

5th graders are exploring the Civil Rights Movement by researching an activist and writing about the impact they made. It’s great to see students learning about the leaders who helped shape history! 📚✊
National Teacher Appreciation Week is May 4-8, 2026. The Michigan Department of Education’s (MDE) Office of Educator Excellence wishes to celebrate teachers across Michigan for the entire month of May.
MDE invites parents/guardians to submit 15-30 second videos of their students recognizing and thanking a specific teacher for their impact. Cell phones easily capture the videos. Please follow the directions on the flyer. Videos and parental consent must be submitted via the Teacher Appreciation Video Project Google Form. Videos are currently being accepted until April 15, 2026.
Submitted videos may be posted on the Teacher Appreciation Month webpage and MDE’s YouTube channel. Additionally, the Office of Educator Excellence’s Facebook (@MIeducator) and X (formerly Twitter) will promote the videos throughout the month of May.
