The students were honored to visit with Mr. Bauer, a World War Two veteran who continues his lifelong work of educating the youth all while being 102 years young. He spoke of the war, his life, and offered advice to the younger generations. It was truly an honor to have him as a guest speaker!

💙💛🐻Staff Appreciation Week at Ashley Community Schools is a time to recognize the people who keep the district running strong every single day. From teachers and paraprofessionals to custodial teams, bus drivers, food service staff, administrative assistants, guidance counselor, maintenance crews, and administrators, each role plays a vital part in creating a safe, supportive, and inspiring environment for students.
This week is all about gratitude—celebrating the dedication, teamwork, and care that staff bring to their work. Whether it’s a kind word, a small gesture, or a community shout-out, it’s an opportunity to highlight the impact these individuals have on students’ lives and the strength they bring to the Ashley school community as a whole.💙💛🐻

The Fulton Schools and Ashley Community Schools Board of Education are pleased to announce that we have entered into negotiations with Mr. Ryan Portenga to serve as the superintendent for both districts and communities. This is an exciting first step as we embark on a new chapter together!
Mr. Portenga brings a wealth of experience from his impressive service as the Middle/High School Principal at Pewamo Westphalia. During his tenure, he has consistently demonstrated his commitment to championing all students across Academics, Arts, and Athletics. The interview process allowed us to gain an even greater appreciation for his accomplishments, which are grounded in a student and family-centered philosophy and close collaboration with his administrative teams.
We are confident that Mr. Portenga's strong communication abilities, steadfast work ethic, and core values will align with the goals and aspirations of both districts and communities. His leadership will help foster positive growth and a stronger sense of community throughout our schools.
We look forward to the positive impact Mr. Portenga will bring and are excited for what the future holds!
Here's to embarking on a remarkable adventure together-one that will benefit our communities for years to come!!!
